**Quick note from icklebabe** -I feel I must add something as quite a few people have said they thought the choice for the first book a bit strange.
When I blogged about how much I enjoyed the book in first place, I never thought it would turn into a lovely little club. It just kind of evolved because people wanted to read the book. If I am honest I probably would have chosen something that might have been deemed “more intelligent” if I had know it was going to be our first read. But in hindsight I am really glad it was our first book. Not everything I read I need to be super challenged by, and my choice for Sophie Dahl’s was a simple one, I loved it! and I wanted to recommend it to my friends. Surely that’s what the bloggy book club should be about. I am very much looking forward to all the different books you guys choose too.Back to our new read, and what a fab one it is! XXX

So its the start of a new bloggy book club month, and this times offering is from the very bright and shiny @allaboutheboys, her book is a total departure from my choice.
A quick review from tinternet…. “This remarkable book defies categorisation. Under the Skin introduces Isserley, a woman obsessed with picking up male hitchhikers – so long as they’re well-muscled and alone. But why? As the novel unfolds and the reason becomes clear, the reader is drawn inexorably into a completely unexpected and increasingly terrifying world.”
Ohhhh sounds exciting, no?
I Cant wait…. pop over to @allaboutboys blog to hear why it was her choice. We start now and we will review back at her place on the 28th again, I will keep you all posted with regular reminders
I also just wanted to ask if anyone has suggestions for the next two? After our current choice, we have The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde. Recommended by @soriko. But then the field is open, so if you have a book your burning to have us all read, leave me a comment and we will make yours next. Don’t worry if you don’t have your own blog, you can always guest host here, or I will host it, if your a bit shy
(most of you aren’t tho, as I have discovered from the last book club review! hehe!)
It has been absolutely great so far, I really want to thank u all for enjoying it along with me, I look forward to seeing you all at @allaboutheboys in a months time.
Ok then, *reading glasses at the ready* (that maybe just me that…bit of an old git
)
On your marks…Get set…Go get reading!!!! ;-D XXXX

Oooo I love recommending “Between the Bridge and the River” by Craig Ferguson to friends. I totally recommend it here!
Thanku Cee! that will be our next after @sorkio’s choice then. FAB…going to google the book now. I will be in touch about it closer to the time
XXXX
Keep the suggestions coming folks! x
Hey hun, you don’t need to justify the book to us or feel compelled to pick a ‘more inteligent’ read just because it’s a book club! Besides, none of us would even be here reading & commenting if it hadn’t been for your little review of the Dahl book in the first place! Plus I think the book was plenty intelligent enough anyway and like you’ve said before it’s very much a ‘pick and pix’ kind of club and I for one am looking forward to reading a diverse range of books and hopefully not all of them are going to be heavy serious books!
Thanku lovely Sophie, just wanted to get it off my chest
) so maybe i am just a bit of a soppy, airy fairy “feelings” kind a girl ;D XXX
Kind of hope it encorages other people to pipe up with the books they really love too. I think this club is really great, and our differing views make it all the more interesting.
To be honest, i loved Sophie Dahl’s cookery show too, (i know theres always one!
What are you like ??? You don’t need to justify your choice of book ! That’s the whole point of a book club ! If we all had the same point of view it wouldn’t make for a very interesting or thought provoking club now would it ?? Same as if we all had the same taste in men ! (WELL MAYBE ONLY WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR SCRUMMY HUBBY) . Silly Billy xxx
Can’t believe you are justifying your book choice. Despite it not hitting all my buttons, I still enjoyed reading it and it made me read again! It was a delightful book compared to most of the rubbish I normally think looks interesting and I enjoyed being taken away from my usual drivel. Thank you! I’m loving the book club and it’s diversity.
Hehe! Thanku Zoe C and Karen, I think you too would get on very well in the “real” world, I feel duly chastised and hugged at the same time
Really am so glad your enjoying the club, me too XXX
Your selection for our first bloggy book club was great, so please stop with apologies. I loved it. And where would we be if you didn’t come upon that Sophie Dahl book? Oh, I’m sure we should somehow thank Amazon for sending it to you, but c’mon! You inspired us to read and share our thoughts.
And I’m looking forward to the next one. I’ll check my library to see if I can find it there first. Yay!
